What we’re seeking:
- Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with a Deaf/Hard of Hearing (DHH) endorsement
- Previous experience working as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing preferred
- Ability to adapt to multiple school environments, traveling between sites as needed
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach with students, families, and educational teams
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive, positive learning atmosphere
What you’ll do:
- Provide direct and consultative services to Deaf/Hard of Hearing students across assigned schools
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), monitor progress, and adjust strategies to support each student’s learning
- Collaborate with classroom teachers and staff to modify curriculum and create accessible instructional materials
- Advocate for students’ needs and ensure access to appropriate resources and accommodations
- Partner with families to promote student success and engage them in the educational process
