Step into a meaningful role supporting students who are deaf or hard of hearing across a diverse, multi-building school system near Hammond, IN. This contract position begins on August 10, 2026, and extends through May 28, 2026, providing the opportunity to make a lasting difference over a full academic year.

In this role, you'll serve a caseload of 48 students ranging from Pre-K through age 21, located across 25 sites. You’ll leverage your expertise in IEP development, case management, assistive technology support, and progress monitoring to ensure students receive the tailored services they need. Most students receive consultative or monthly services, allowing for dynamic and impactful collaboration throughout the year. Service delivery breakdown includes:

  • Monthly consults for 21 students (20–30 minutes each)
  • Quarterly services for 16 students
  • Twice-monthly sessions for 4 students
  • Three times monthly sessions for 2 students
  • Intensive support (three times per week) for 1 student

Key Qualifications:

  • State certification as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing
  • Demonstrated experience working with students with hearing impairments across varied grade levels
  • Strong understanding of IEP development, case management, and assistive technology for DHH populations
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
  • Flexibility to serve multiple buildings and manage a diverse caseload

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage IEPs, monitor student progress, and provide specialized instructional strategies
  • Consult with school teams and families to promote best outcomes
  • Support students directly and through collaboration with other educators and related service providers
