Key Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Current, valid Massachusetts Teacher of the Deaf & Hard of Hearing (TODHH) License through DESE (required)
  • Demonstrated experience working with K-12 students who are deaf/hard of hearing
  • Strong skills in differentiated instruction, progress monitoring, and collaborative educational planning
  • Ability to travel among multiple nearby schools as needed
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities
  • Professional, self-motivated, and reliable

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct instruction, consultation, and support for students who are deaf or hard of hearing across four schools in Haverhill
  • Partner with general and special education teachers to tailor strategies, accommodations, and resources
  • Participate in IEP meetings and maintain accurate, timely documentation for student progress and goals
  • Serve as a resource to staff and families regarding best practices in deaf/hard of hearing education
  • Promote self-advocacy and communication access for students
  • Maintain compliance with state and federal special education regulations
