Qualifications and Experience:

  • Valid certification as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing (or eligibility to obtain)
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Deaf Education or a related field
  • Experience working with students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing in school settings
  • Knowledge of American Sign Language (ASL) preferred
  • Familiarity with IEP development and progress monitoring
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and advocacy skills

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized educational plans tailored to each student's needs and strengths
  • Deliver direct instruction using evidence-based strategies and accommodations
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and families to support inclusive classroom environments
  • Conduct assessments to inform instruction and measure student progress
  • Provide consultation and professional development to staff to enhance communication access and support
  • Advocate for students’ needs and success throughout the school community
