Teacher of the Deaf in Hernando, MS

Desired Qualifications and Background:
- Valid state certification or licensure as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing (or eligibility to obtain)
- Experience with individualized education plans (IEPs) and providing direct and consultative services
- Ability to collaborate effectively with educators, families, and support staff
- Proficient communication skills in both spoken and written English; American Sign Language proficiency preferred
- Compassionate, patient, and adaptable approach to working with students of varying abilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing, tailored to their unique learning requirements
- Develop, implement, and modify IEPs in coordination with multidisciplinary teams
- Collaborate closely with classroom teachers, support staff, and families
- Offer both direct teaching and consultative services to ensure student accessibility and participation
- Contribute to a positive, encouraging classroom atmosphere that honors diverse learning needs
- Provide progress reports, assessments, and ongoing documentation
