What you bring:
- Valid certification or licensure to teach Deaf/Hard of Hearing students (required)
- Previous experience working with children or adolescents with hearing challenges preferred
- Strong knowledge of specialized instructional strategies and assistive technologies
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
- Flexibility and adaptability to meet unique student needs
- Familiarity with IEP development and progress monitoring
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) or willingness to learn
Your responsibilities:
- Design and implement tailored instructional plans for students with hearing differences
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, support staff, and families to ensure effective accommodations
- Assess, document, and evaluate students’ progress toward IEP goals
- Facilitate communication through direct instruction, interpreting services, and assistive technology
- Advocate for accessible learning resources and promote inclusive participation
- Provide ongoing support, consultation, and training for faculty and families
