Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid certification as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing or eligibility in the state
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Deaf Education or related field
- Proficiency in multiple communication modes (ASL, oral, total communication, etc.) preferred
- Experience creating and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Strong collaboration and communication skills with families, staff, and students
- Previous experience within school settings appreciated
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction and support for students who are deaf or hard of hearing
- Develop and adapt IEPs tailored to each learner’s goals and strengths
- Collaborate closely with general education teachers, speech-language pathologists, and other related service providers
- Facilitate accessible learning through use of assistive technology and visually supportive materials
- Advocate for student needs and foster inclusive, engaging educational experiences
- Participate in IEP meetings, staff development days, and parent conferences
