DHH Teacher | Kent, Washington
This position requires expertise in teaching students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing within a school setting. Located in Kent, WA, this contract role involves supporting diverse learners by delivering specialized instruction tailored to their unique communication and educational needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized educational plans (IEPs) for students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
- Utilize specialized teaching strategies and assistive technologies to enhance student learning
- Collaborate with speech-language pathologists, audiologists, and other educational professionals
- Monitor student progress and adjust instructional methods accordingly
- Communicate regularly with families and caregivers to support student development
Desired Qualifications:
- Certification or licensure as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing
- Experience working in K-12 educational environments with students who have hearing impairments
- Strong knowledge of American Sign Language (ASL) and other communication modalities is preferred
- Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment
