Key Qualifications:
- Valid certification as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing (DHH)
- Proven classroom or school-based experience supporting students with hearing differences
- Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Knowledge of American Sign Language (ASL) or other communication modalities, as relevant
- Strong communication skills for collaboration with families and educational teams
- Commitment to fostering a positive, accessible learning environment
Role Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized instruction to a designated student, adapting lessons to meet unique learning needs
- Collaborate with school teams to support academic and social inclusion
- Maintain accurate, timely records and contribute to IEP meetings
- Advocate for resources and modifications that promote student success
- Provide guidance to staff regarding best practices for supporting DHH learners
- Stay current on educational strategies and technologies for the DHH community
This contract position runs from August 6, 2026, to May 27, 2027, with a manageable schedule of approximately 15 hours weekly, allowing for meaningful engagement and work-life balance.
