Key Qualifications:
- Valid certification as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing
- Previous experience working in educational settings with DHH students strongly preferred
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) highly valued
- Ability to design and deliver individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, working effectively with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams
Responsibilities:
- Deliver tailored instruction and support to students from early childhood to high school who are Deaf or hard of hearing
- Adapt curriculum and teaching techniques to students’ individual abilities and IEP goals
- Foster language development, communication skills, and academic achievement
- Consult regularly with general education staff, specialists, and families to maximize student progress
- Monitor and document growth, adjusting interventions and supports as needed
- Advocate for student needs and provide resource support within the school community
This assignment offers a competitive pay rate ranging from $42 to $50 per hour, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
