Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Valid certification as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing (DHH)
- Experience working with EC-12 learners
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) highly preferred
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
- Ability to adapt instructional methods to meet individual student needs
- Commitment to promoting student advocacy, empowerment, and academic growth
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with hearing loss
- Provide direct and consultative services to a caseload of 29 students district-wide
- Use ASL and other communication methods to deliver tailored instruction
- Partner with general education teachers, specialists, and families to support student goals
- Conduct assessments and maintain detailed documentation on student progress
- Advocate for accommodations and accessible resources within school settings
- Encourage positive self-identity and communication among students
