This contract opportunity involves providing on-site instruction and services, ensuring that every student receives personalized and hands-on support. Rather than being assigned to a single school, you’ll travel within the area, connecting with a variety of students across multiple campuses. This dynamic environment offers the chance to work closely with approximately 30 students, some of whom utilize cochlear implants, enhancing your experience and professional growth.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid certification or licensure to teach students who are Deaf/Hard of Hearing
- Demonstrated expertise in working with hearing-assistive technologies, including cochlear implants
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and families
- Experience developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Reliable transportation for travel between schools within the county
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct instruction and specialized support tailored to students who are Deaf/Hard of Hearing
- Adjust teaching methods for students with cochlear implants or other assistive technologies
- Assess student progress and integrate data into ongoing lesson plans and IEPs
- Partner with teachers, staff, and families to foster inclusive learning environments
- Maintain thorough and timely documentation for compliance and student success
- Participate in IEP meetings, consultations, and trainings as needed
- Commit to a 35-hour workweek, maintaining a consistent on-site presence
