Key Qualifications:
- Credentialed to teach Deaf/Hard of Hearing students or current eligibility for such certification
- Previous experience working with diverse school-aged populations with hearing differences
- Familiarity supporting students who use assistive technology such as Cochlear implants
- Strong communication skills to collaborate with general education staff and families
- Willingness and ability to travel between school sites throughout the county
- Commitment to maintaining student confidentiality and advocating for their needs
Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized and group instruction for a caseload of around 30 students, ensuring IEP implementation
- Monitor student progress and complete required assessments, maintaining transparency with stakeholders
- Advise and consult with teachers, school teams, and families to promote access and inclusion
- Provide support and training for staff to understand best practices for Deaf/Hard of Hearing learners
- Support students in using devices (including Cochlear implants) to maximize auditory access in educational settings
