Key Qualifications:

  • Credentialed and experienced in teaching students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
  • Comfortable traveling countywide and adapting to various school sites.
  • Strong understanding of differentiated instructional strategies for DHH students, including those with Cochlear implants.
  • Skilled in working with a caseload of approximately 30 students at varying grade levels.
  • Familiar with developing and implementing IEPs for DHH students.
  • Excellent communication and collaborative skills for working alongside teachers, family members, and district staff.

Your Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Providing direct instruction and support services to DHH students in a variety of educational settings.
  • Serving as an advocate and resource for students and staff regarding hearing loss and accessibility.
  • Developing, reviewing, and updating IEPs in partnership with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Monitoring student progress, maintaining records, and communicating regularly with educators and guardians.
  • Offering expertise and recommendations on adaptive technology and instructional accommodations.
  • Assisting and training staff on best practices for supporting students with hearing impairments.

You’ll work a consistent 35 hours per week, with the rewarding challenge of adapting to different environments and needs.
