Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teacher - Lowell, Massachusetts

In this dynamic role, you’ll collaborate with existing district Teachers of the Deaf to deliver specialized instruction and services across multiple age groups. Your caseload and scheduling can be tailored based on your expertise or preference, ensuring both your work-life balance and the district’s service needs are met effectively.
What you’ll bring:
- Active Massachusetts Teacher of the Deaf certification
- Experience supporting Deaf/Hard of Hearing students in educational settings
- Collaborative mindset for partnership with district staff
- Ability to adapt lessons and communication styles to meet diverse student needs
- Commitment to confidentiality, empathy, and advocacy for student success
- Comfortable working across multiple schools or student ages, as determined with district input
Key responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized or small group instruction to Deaf/Hard of Hearing students
- Consult with educational teams, families, and colleagues to ensure IEP compliance
- Modify curriculum and materials for accessibility
- Participate in IEP meetings and provide progress updates
- Advocate for and support students’ academic and communication development
- Maintain accurate documentation and compliance with district/state requirements
