Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Valid Massachusetts teaching certificate as Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing
- Previous experience as a Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing in educational settings preferred
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive environment for students with hearing loss
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to individual student needs
- Comfortable working independently and as part of a team effort
Role Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct instruction to students who are deaf or hard of hearing
- Collaborate with fellow educators and the district’s full-time TOD to optimize student support
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Provide expertise and advocacy to staff and family members
- Adapt learning materials as needed based on student needs
- Maintain accurate records and regular communication
