Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teacher - Mansfield, TX

Key Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid Texas teaching certificate with Deaf and Hard of Hearing (EC-12) certification, or eligibility to obtain before the start date.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.
- Demonstrated proficiency in American Sign Language and/or expertise in listening and spoken language approaches, tailored to each student’s needs.
- Strong understanding of language acquisition and literacy development for deaf and hard of hearing children.
- Experience designing and carrying out Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
- Preferred: Prior experience in a self-contained DHH classroom, working with K–2 literacy, familiarity with RDSPD structures, and bilingual (English/Spanish) abilities.
Core Responsibilities:
- Provide targeted instruction across core content areas—reading, writing, math—based on grade-level TEKS and adapted materials.
- Implement IEPs in collaboration with service providers and staff, aligning instruction with specified communication modalities.
- Track student progress, prepare regular reports, and administer key assessments.
- Partner with audiologists, SLPs, interpreters, and families to foster optimal language development and classroom access.
- Ensure a supportive environment, inclusive of necessary technology and accommodations.
- Participate in ARD/IEP meetings, maintain regulatory compliance, and engage in ongoing professional development.
