DHH Teacher | North Richland Hills, Texas

As a full-time contract educator for 1st and 2nd graders, you will play a key role in fostering academic growth and language development, working within a vibrant elementary setting.
Key Qualifications:
- Possess or be eligible for a valid Texas teaching certificate with Deaf and Hard of Hearing (EC-12) certification
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
- Demonstrated skill in American Sign Language and/or listening and spoken language methodologies, relevant to student needs
- Strong foundation in language acquisition and literacy development specific to deaf/hard of hearing children
- Experience in IEP creation, implementation, and progress monitoring
- Prior work in a self-contained DHH classroom and with early elementary literacy (preferred)
- Knowledge of RDSPD program requirements and procedures (preferred)
- Bilingual in English/Spanish is a plus
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Deliver specially designed instruction in core subjects aligned to grade-level standards, adapted for students’ unique needs
- Use communication modes outlined in each IEP (ASL, spoken language, total communication, etc.)
- Collaborate closely with service providers— including audiologists, interpreters, and speech-language pathologists— to enhance student access
- Manage your own classroom to optimize access to auditory and visual instruction and implement assistive technology as needed
- Build positive relationships with families through regular, effective communication regarding progress and expectations
- Participate in ARD/IEP meetings, contributing your expertise to placement and goal discussions
- Remain up to date with professional development and ensure all practices align with district, state, and federal guidelines
