Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing in Pickerington, OH

Qualifications:
- Active Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing (DHH) Certification for the applicable state
- Experience working in educational settings with D/HH students preferred
- Solid understanding of best practices in auditory/oral and/or sign language instruction
- Ability to collaborate effectively with students, families, and interdisciplinary teams
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Commitment to inclusion and culturally responsive teaching
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction to students who are deaf or hard of hearing
- Develop and adapt Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) tailored to each student’s needs
- Support language acquisition, literacy development, and academic achievement
- Consult with general education teachers and related service providers to implement accommodations and modifications
- Maintain ongoing communication with families about goals and progress
- Utilize a variety of assistive technology and communication strategies as appropriate
