Position Type: Full-Time | School-Based
We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) to join a supportive school district in Alameda, California. This is an excellent opportunity to make a meaningful impact by helping students achieve academic success while fostering communication, independence, and confidence.
Responsibilities:
Provide direct instructional services to students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
Assess student progress and maintain accurate documentation.
Collaborate with teachers, families, and related service providers to support student success.
Adapt curriculum and instructional materials to meet individual learning needs.
Support students in developing communication, language, and self-advocacy skills.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Deaf Education or a related field.
Valid California Teaching Credential with authorization for Deaf and Hard of Hearing (or eligibility to obtain one).
Previous school-based experience preferred but not required.
Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
Knowledge of ASL and/or total communication methods is preferred.
