This exciting contract opportunity begins August 7th and runs through June 4th, covering full-time hours (35 hours per week) serving students from Transitional Kindergarten through age 22. With a caseload of 20-28 students across 15 nearby school sites, you'll have the opportunity to impact a diverse group of learners and collaborate within a dynamic educational community.
Your experience as a Deaf / Hard of Hearing Specialist or Teacher will be highly valued in this role.
Desired Qualifications:
- Valid credentials/certification as a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing
- Prior experience serving Deaf/Hard of Hearing students in educational settings
- Strong collaboration skills to work with classroom teachers, families, and support staff
- Ability to adapt instruction and communication methods to meet varied student needs
- Knowledge of assistive technology and strategies for accessibility
- Passion for empowering students through advocacy and inclusion
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct instruction and support to Deaf and Hard of Hearing students, ages TK-22
- Consult with educators and families to promote student success
- Develop and adapt IEP goals and participate actively in meetings
- Support the implementation of individualized accommodations and modifications
- Provide guidance on the use of amplification systems, interpreters, and technology
- Travel between up to 15 school sites within the district as needed
Compensation for this role ranges from $35 to $45 an hour, depending on experience.
