Make a difference for students with hearing needs in the vibrant Nashville area as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing! This full-time, contract opportunity offers the chance to serve a mix of Pre-K through high school learners across specialized DHH hubs. You’ll be providing essential consultative and direct services, ensuring access, inclusion, and success for students across multiple campuses in the region. This assignment follows a traditional school calendar, running from early August to late May with a consistent Monday–Friday schedule.
What We’re Looking For:
- Valid Tennessee Department of Education teaching certificate with DHH endorsement
- Experience or interest in supporting K–12 students with varied hearing needs
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach
- Flexibility to adapt to changing caseloads and service requirements
- Ability to work onsite at designated DHH hub locations
- Completion of Tennessee fingerprinting and compliance with new district credentialing procedures
Your Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality, individualized instruction and support to students with hearing impairments
- Provide expert consultation to school teams, collaborating with teachers, speech-language pathologists, and support staff
- Contribute to developing and implementing IEPs tailored to student strengths and needs
- Maintain accurate records, progress notes, and required documentation
- Travel between assigned campuses as needed, adjusting to different age groups and service delivery models
- Stay current with best practices and innovative approaches in DHH education
