Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing - Cumberland Furnace, TN

This full-time, school-year position offers an engaging schedule from August 3, 2026 through May 28, 2027, with a consistent 37.5-hour week, Monday through Friday. You’ll work closely with K-12 students across a network of DHH hubs spanning Pre-K through Middle School, collaborating with educational teams to provide meaningful, consultative services tailored to individual needs.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid and active Tennessee DOE certification
- Experience or background focused on Deaf/Hard of Hearing student populations
- Comfortable supporting K-12 caseloads in consultative and direct service models
- Ability to work in-person and travel between assigned hubs as needed
- Completion of Tennessee fingerprinting/background checks in accordance with district requirements
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver consultative and direct teaching services for DHH students, adapting approaches to a wide range of ages and learning needs
- Collaborate with staff and families to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Support students’ academic, social, and language development with evidence-based strategies
- Maintain clear communication and thorough documentation for compliance and student progress
- Serve as a resource and advocate for DHH students and their access to educational opportunities
