Make a meaningful impact supporting students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing in a vibrant school community near the northern Nashville suburbs! This full-time contract position spans the entire academic year, welcoming professionals who are passionate about fostering communication and learning for K-12 students. Whether your experience is in early childhood or transitioning students through middle school, your skills are needed across several campuses that serve as DHH resource hubs.

In this role, you’ll collaborate with educators across the district to provide consultative and direct services that align with student IEPs. This is an onsite-only opportunity, allowing you to build strong relationships with students, staff, and families, and to witness growth first-hand in an inclusive educational environment.

Key Qualifications:

  • Current and active Tennessee Department of Education certification (DHH endorsement required)
  • Successful completion of state and district fingerprinting/background check procedures
  • Previous experience teaching or consulting with Deaf/Hard of Hearing students in a K-12 setting
  • Strong communication, advocacy, and consultative skills
  • Ability to adapt services to a diverse caseload with varying support needs

Role Responsibilities:

  • Provide consultation and direct instruction for Deaf/Hard of Hearing students, spanning Pre-K through Middle School
  • Support the educational team in developing and implementing strategies to enhance language, social, and academic outcomes for students
  • Participate in IEP meetings, maintaining progress data and sharing recommendations with multidisciplinary teams
  • Collaborate with interpreters, audiologists, and other specialists
  • Travel between assigned district schools as needed
