Exciting opportunity for dedicated educators specializing in Deaf and Hard of Hearing services in the Nashville area. This full-time, contract-based position runs from August 3, 2026, through May 28, 2027, offering the chance to work closely with students from kindergarten through grade 12. Assignments will vary, serving DHH hubs for Pre-K to Elementary, and a new Middle School hub opening for the next school year. Support is primarily delivered through a consultative model, ensuring students receive the tailored assistance they need for success across different campuses.
Desired Qualifications:
- Valid Tennessee Department of Education Certification in Deaf/Hard of Hearing
- Experience teaching or supporting Deaf and/or Hard of Hearing students (K-12 preferred)
- Ability to adapt instruction and consultation based on student needs and IEPs
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with staff, students, and families
- Completion of Tennessee fingerprinting requirements (must meet district credentialing guidelines prior to start)
- Willingness to work on-site, adhering to current district assignment expectations
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver consultative and direct instructional services to K-12 students with hearing differences
- Collaborate with general education teachers, special educators, and related service providers
- Develop and implement appropriate accommodations and supports as determined by IEP teams
- Participate actively in IEP meetings and student planning sessions
- Serve as a resource for staff and parents regarding Deaf and Hard of Hearing education
- Travel between district DHH hub sites as required by caseload
