DHH Teacher | Pleasant View, Tennessee

This contract opportunity offers a full-time schedule during the academic year, providing vital services across a vibrant cluster of specialized school hubs in the northern Nashville area. You’ll work with a diverse caseload spanning Kindergarten through high school, primarily in a consultative capacity based on the evolving needs of each assignment.
What we’re seeking:
- Valid and active Tennessee Department of Education certification for Deaf or Hard of Hearing (DHH) education
- Experience working as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing, with comfort engaging K-12 students
- Ability to adapt support for students with varying degrees of hearing loss within an educational setting
- Willingness to complete district-specific fingerprinting and time-sensitive credentialing requirements
- Strong collaboration skills to partner with educators, families, and specialists
- Flexibility to work in multiple schools as needed, including Pre-K/Elementary DHH hubs and a newly opened Middle School hub
Key responsibilities:
- Provide direct and consultative services to DHH students, tailoring interventions to individual learning goals
- Advocate for accessible instruction and accommodations in both academic and social settings
- Support classroom teachers through training, resources, and in-class strategies
- Collaborate regularly with multidisciplinary teams to monitor student progress and adapt plans
- Maintain thorough records in compliance with district and state requirements
