This full-time, onsite contract position provides the rewarding opportunity to deliver expert instruction and consultative services to K-12 learners. The assignment follows the school calendar, running from early August through late May, offering the consistency of a Monday-to-Friday schedule and active engagement across an innovative district.
Key Qualifications:
- Possess or be eligible for an active Tennessee Department of Education certification in Deaf/Hard of Hearing education
- Demonstrated expertise in the field, with experience supporting Deaf/Hard of Hearing students in school environments
- Strong collaborative and consultative skills to partner with general education teachers and families
- Effective communication abilities and organizational skills
- Commitment to ongoing professional growth and advocacy for inclusive education
- Completion of Tennessee state fingerprinting and timely credentialing (district guidance provided)
Professional Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized instruction and support to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing, K–12, in a hub-based assignment model
- Adapt strategies to meet varying needs across Pre-K, elementary, and middle school populations
- Serve primarily in a consultative capacity while flexibly addressing evolving student and district needs
- Foster positive learning environments focused on student self-advocacy and access
- Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams, including special education and general education staff
- Maintain accurate documentation and contribute to the development and implementation of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
