Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (TDHH) | Cumberland Furnace, Tennessee
Step into a meaningful contract opportunity supporting students as a Teacher for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing near the Nashville area. For the 2026-27 academic year, you’ll work onsite across a district that features established Deaf/Hard of Hearing (DHH) hubs for Pre-K through Elementary—and a new hub for Middle School. With a caseload spanning K-12, your schedule will be Monday through Friday, 37.5 hours a week, starting August 3, 2026, through May 28, 2027.
Key Qualifications:
- Active Tennessee Department of Education teaching certification
- Prior experience or training as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing
- Familiarity with consultative and direct service models in educational settings
- Ability to adapt to varying caseload sizes and student needs
- Comfortable working with a diverse K-12 population
- Willingness to meet Tennessee state fingerprinting requirements for school employees
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized instruction and support to students with hearing impairments, aligned with their individualized education plans
- Conduct consultative and direct services based on ongoing needs assessments
- Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families for optimal student outcomes
- Contribute to the continual improvement of hub-based service delivery in a dynamic school district
