Qualifications and Required Skills:
- Valid and active Tennessee DOE certification for Deaf/Hard of Hearing teaching
- Experience or strong background working with children or young adults, K–12, who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
- Ability to adapt communication and instructional strategies to individual student needs
- Up-to-date TN fingerprint clearance (district will provide information for new fingerprinting process)
- Professional communication, organization, and consultative skills for collaboration with both staff and families
Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction and support for Deaf/Hard of Hearing students, K–12
- Consult and collaborate with school staff, related service providers, and families to optimize educational access
- Participate in IEP meetings and assist with development and implementation of student goals
- Provide resources and training as needed to staff and caregivers
- Maintain accurate records and ongoing documentation of student progress
