This full-time opportunity runs from August 3, 2026, to May 28, 2027, aligning with the school district calendar. You’ll serve a diverse K-12 caseload in dedicated district “hubs” for Deaf/Hard of Hearing students, including a new middle school hub launching in the upcoming school year. Your expertise will play a vital role in providing consultative and instructional services, tailoring support to each student’s unique needs.
Qualifications:
- Valid Tennessee Department of Education certification for Deaf/Hard of Hearing.
- Experience working with students ranging from preschool through high school preferred.
- Strong knowledge of appropriate instructional strategies, specialized communication approaches, and assistive technology.
- Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, general educators, and families.
- Successful completion of Tennessee fingerprinting and district credentialing requirements (to be processed upon hire).
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct and consultative services to DHH students across various schools.
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) based on student assessments and team recommendations.
- Communicate progress and instructional strategies with general education staff and families.
- Support transition planning and advocacy for students moving between grade levels or program hubs.
- Maintain accurate records and meet all district and state compliance requirements.
