This role will allow you to work across multiple grade levels, from Pre-K through age 21, ensuring positive outcomes for a diverse caseload of 48 students dispersed among 25 buildings.
Your expertise will be valued as you engage in IEP development, case management, and the implementation of assistive technology, with a focus on student engagement and progress monitoring. You’ll provide direct and consultative services, ranging from monthly check-ins to more frequent, individualized sessions for students with higher needs.
Preferred background and qualifications:
- Valid certification or licensure as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing
- Recent school or educational setting experience, preferably spanning a range of age/grade levels
- Demonstrated strength with IEP writing, goal tracking, and case management
- Comfort supporting students across consultative and direct service models—experience with a consultative caseload highly advantageous
- Ability to navigate multiple buildings and manage scheduling efficiently
- Knowledge of and experience with assistive technologies for Deaf/Hard of Hearing students
Key responsibilities:
- Deliver direct and consultative services to students on your caseload, following individualized schedules
- Develop, update, and manage IEPs, ensuring compliance and timely communication
- Utilize and support the use of assistive technologies to maximize student participation
- Monitor and document progress; communicate regularly with partnering teachers, staff, and families
- Empower students and advocate for their needs within the school community
This contract spans the school year, giving you the opportunity to impact students from August through the end of May.
