Qualifications & Preferred Experience:
- Valid teaching certification with endorsement as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing
- Experience supporting students in educational settings, preferably within K-12
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with fluency in American Sign Language (ASL) or other communication modes used by students
- Knowledge of current instructional strategies, assessments, and assistive technology for deaf/hard of hearing learners
- Collaborative mindset to work with families, general educators, and related service providers
- Commitment to promoting accessibility, cultural competence, and inclusion for all students
Responsibilities Include:
- Providing direct and consultative services to students identified as deaf or hard of hearing
- Developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Adapting curriculum and instructional materials based on student needs
- Supporting students’ language, literacy, and self-advocacy skills
- Collaborating with team members to ensure appropriate accommodations and successful integration within the school community
- Participating in team meetings and ongoing professional development
