Virtual Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teacher in NE

A contract opportunity is available for a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing specializing in telehealth services. This role focuses on delivering specialized instruction and support for students with hearing impairments through virtual platforms, ensuring accessibility and fostering effective communication skills.

Responsibilities include:

• Conducting telehealth sessions tailored to the needs of deaf and hard of hearing students.
• Developing individualized education plans (IEPs) in collaboration with families, educators, and related service providers.
• Utilizing assistive technologies to enhance learning experiences.
• Monitoring student progress and adapting instructional strategies accordingly.
• Providing consultation and training to school staff on best practices for educating students with hearing challenges.
• Maintaining accurate records and reporting on student performance.

Qualifications:

• Certification or licensure as a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing.
• Experience delivering telehealth services in educational settings.
• Strong understanding of auditory and visual learning methods, assistive devices, and communication strategies.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in remote and collaborative environments.
