Remote Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing | West Virginia
Seeking a skilled Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing with expertise in telehealth services for a contract position in Charleston, WV. This role involves delivering specialized instruction and support to students with hearing impairments through virtual platforms, ensuring accessibility and effective communication in a remote learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored educational instruction and support to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing via telehealth.
- Develop and implement individualized lesson plans that address students’ communication needs and academic goals.
- Collaborate with families, school staff, and audiologists to monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly.
- Utilize assistive technologies and telepractice methods to facilitate learning and communication.
- Maintain accurate documentation of student interactions, progress, and assessments in compliance with educational guidelines.
Desired Qualifications:
- Certification or licensure as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing.
- Experience delivering telehealth or remote instruction services to students with hearing impairments.
- Strong knowledge of American Sign Language (ASL) and other communication methods suitable for Deaf and Hard of Hearing learners.
- Familiarity with assistive listening devices and educational technologies.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
