A position is available for a Teacher specializing in the Deaf and Hard of Hearing, focusing on telehealth services in an educational setting. Key Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized instruction and support to students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
- Implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and 504 plans tailored to student needs.
- Manage and maintain related service equipment, coordinating with audiologists as necessary.
- Deliver services primarily through telehealth platforms, adapting to remote education requirements.
- Collaborate with school personnel and families to ensure comprehensive support for each student.
- Work with one student utilizing an ASL interpreter, supporting communication needs accordingly.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Certification and experience in teaching students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
- Familiarity with telehealth practices in educational contexts.
- Competency in managing IEPs and 504 plans.
- Ability to provide both direct instruction and indirect support services.
- ASL fluency is preferred to enhance communication effectiveness.
- Strong organizational skills for managing equipment and coordination with audiologists.
Schedule and Location:
- Position is located in Morrisville, NC.
- Contract duration: August 25th through June 9th.
- Approximately 30-33 hours per week.
