Desired Qualifications:
- Valid state licensure and/or certification for teaching Deaf and Hard of Hearing students (documentation required at time of application)
- Previous experience supporting students with hearing loss in school environments is strongly preferred
- Ability to develop and deliver specialized instruction based on individualized needs
- Comfortable participating in IEP meetings and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams
- Adaptive communication skills including sign language proficiency, as needed
- Strong organizational skills and a compassionate, inclusive approach to education
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop specialized lesson plans for Deaf/Hard of Hearing students in accordance with IEPs and educational standards
- Foster an engaging, accessible classroom environment ensuring full access to curriculum
- Collaborate with general education staff to provide recommendations on accommodations and modifications
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and communicate regularly with families and team members
- Utilize technology and visual aids to enhance learning experiences when appropriate
- Advocate for students’ needs and actively participate in professional development
