Make a meaningful impact supporting deaf and hard of hearing students across a diverse range of grade levels, from Pre-K through age 21, within a multi-site school system. This contract runs from August 10, 2026, to May 28, 2027, providing you the chance to make a difference throughout the school year.
You’ll work with a caseload of 48 students, including both Teacher of Record (TOR) and Teacher of Service (TOS) assignments, spread across 25 different buildings. The majority of these students receive consultative or monthly support, with a few requiring more frequent, direct instruction. Your expertise will ensure access, inclusion, and progress for students with varying communication needs in educational settings.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid certification as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing
- Experience supporting students with hearing loss in schools
- Proficiency in IEP development and case management
- Knowledge of assistive technology for auditory support
- Strong skills in progress monitoring and data-driven instruction
- Adaptability to serve Pre-K to post-secondary (age 21) students
- Excellent communication and collaborative team skills
Core Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct instruction and consultation services per each student’s IEP
- Conduct ongoing progress monitoring and document outcomes
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams for comprehensive case management
- Support and train staff on assistive technology in classrooms
- Communicate regularly with families to foster positive educational outcomes
- Travel between multiple sites as needed to provide services
