Qualifications and Experience Desired:
- Valid certification as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing.
- Experience working within school settings as a Deaf/Hard of Hearing Specialist.
- Strong understanding of assistive listening devices, auditory technology, and accommodations.
- Ability to create and adapt Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with hearing differences.
- Skilled in providing direct and consultative services to both students and staff.
- Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
- Passion for fostering accessible and inclusive learning environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Travel between assigned schools to deliver itinerant support for Deaf/Hard of Hearing students.
- Assess students’ needs and coordinate appropriate interventions or accommodations.
- Collaborate closely with general and special education teachers, administrators, and families.
- Monitor student progress and adjust services as necessary.
- Advocate for student access and participation in all aspects of school life.
- Provide training and resources to school staff in best practices and technologies for Deaf/Hard of Hearing support.
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to IEP meetings.
