Qualifications:
- Valid certification as a Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing
- Experience working with elementary students, particularly those with hearing impairments
- Strong understanding of various communication modes, including American Sign Language
- Ability to adapt lesson plans to meet individual student needs
- Collaborative spirit for working alongside general education teachers, support staff, and families
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized and small group instruction for Deaf and Hard of Hearing students
- Assess and monitor students’ progress, adapting strategies as needed
- Collaborate with classroom teachers to ensure curriculum accessibility
- Develop and maintain IEPs, progress reports, and all relevant documentation
- Advocate for accessibility and inclusion within the school community
- Communicate regularly with parents and caregivers to support student growth
- Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and school-wide initiatives
