Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Valid teaching certification in Deaf/Hard of Hearing education
- Previous experience working with elementary-aged children preferred
- Strong ability to implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Skilled in adapting curriculum and employing a variety of communication modalities, such as sign language, oral interpretation, or cued speech
- Compassionate, patient, and collaborative with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction and support tailored to each student’s communication and developmental needs
- Collaborate with general education teachers to adapt classroom materials and methods
- Monitor and document student progress, regularly updating families and school teams
- Serve as an advocate and resource for students, promoting a positive learning experience
- Facilitate effective communication between school staff, parents, and related service providers
