Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) - Anderson, IN
Make a meaningful difference in students' lives by providing consulting services as a Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teacher. Qualifications:
- Valid or eligible Indiana Exceptional Needs Teaching License with a Deaf and Hard of Hearing endorsement
- Proven experience working with students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing, ideally in a school setting
- Knowledge of consultation models, IEP development, and IDEA compliance
- Ability to communicate effectively with students, staff, and families
- Flexibility to work onsite or in a virtual arrangement, as determined
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage varying caseloads
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as a consulting resource for educational staff and administrators to ensure appropriate support and accommodations for D/HH students
- Advise teachers on instructional modifications, adaptive technologies, and classroom strategies
- Monitor student progress, provide recommendations for instructional adjustments, and contribute to IEP meetings and documentation
- Facilitate communication among students, staff, and families regarding accessibility and learning opportunities
- Participate in professional development and remain current on best practices in Deaf and Hard of Hearing education
