Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) - Aurora, IL

This role provides valuable hands-on experience in a school setting located near Aurora, IL.
Key Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with a Deaf/Hard of Hearing endorsement
- Previous experience teaching or supporting students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
- Exceptional communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
- Ability to adapt to a variety of educational settings, including itinerant travel or a middle school environment
- Dedication to fostering an inclusive and accessible learning atmosphere
Role Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized instruction and support for students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) in accordance with state guidelines
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, support staff, and families to maximize student achievement
- Adapt curriculum and classroom environments to meet the unique needs of students
- Serve as an advocate and resource regarding Deaf/Hard of Hearing education within the school community
- Engage in regular travel between school sites if serving in the itinerant capacity, with mileage reimbursed
