Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) - Saint Charles, IL

Qualifications:
- Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with endorsement for Deaf and Hard of Hearing.
- Experience working with Deaf or Hard of Hearing students in educational settings.
- Strong skills in differentiation, individualized instruction, and IEP development.
- Familiarity with assistive technology and various communication modalities (e.g., ASL, signed English, spoken language).
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities with students, staff, and families.
- Commitment to advocacy, accessibility, and inclusive practices.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality direct instruction to meet IEP goals and address unique communication and learning needs of each student.
- Assess strengths and needs, create lesson plans, and adapt curricula to support Deaf and Hard of Hearing learners.
- Consult and collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and families to create accessible classroom environments.
- Serve as a resource to school teams, supporting best practices for accommodations and inclusion.
- Maintain accurate records, progress reports, and participate in IEP meetings.
- If itinerant, travel between sites and track billable mileage as part of the position.
