Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teacher (DHH) in Bruce Crossing, MI
Exciting opportunity for a passionate educator to make an impact as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing for the 2026–2027 school year. Supporting a small, focused caseload of four students, you’ll play a key role in fostering communication skills and advocating for student success. Key Qualifications:
- Valid Teacher of Deaf/Hard of Hearing license or appropriate certification required
- Experience working with Deaf or Hard of Hearing students in educational settings
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to develop and implement individualized educational plans (IEPs/IFSPs)
- Familiarity with a variety of communication modalities (e.g., sign language, auditory/oral)
- Collaborative mindset to work with families, specialists, and school staff
- Commitment to supporting students’ academic and social-emotional growth
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide direct educational services to a caseload of four students
- Two students with TC DHH on their IFSPs
- One student receiving consultative/support services
- One student with designated eligibility for DHH instruction
- Develop and monitor IEPs/IFSPs and progress, adapting instruction as needed
- Offer training and resources to teachers and families
- Advocate for student access, accommodations, and communication needs
- Maintain thorough documentation and participate in school-based meetings
- Foster a welcoming and empowering classroom environment
