Key Qualifications:

  • Valid and current Teacher of Deaf/Hard of Hearing license or certification.
  • Experience working with students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing, either in school settings or early intervention programs.
  • Strong background in individualized education plan (IEP) development and implementation.
  • Skilled in multiple communication modalities, including sign language, spoken language, and assistive technology.
  • Compassionate, patient, and adaptable to diverse student needs.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with families, related service staff, and general education teachers.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging, accessible instruction tailored to the needs and goals of Deaf/Hard of Hearing students.
  • Manage a caseload of four students: two with Teacher Consultation (TC) DHH on their IFSPs, one receiving direct services only, and one student with eligibility.
  • Participate in IEP and IFSP meetings, progress monitoring, and goal setting.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment and serve as an advocate for students’ unique needs.
  • Liaise regularly with school staff, families, and outside specialists to ensure consistency and support for students.
