Deaf and Hard of Hearing Specialist - Hampton, Virginia

What you bring:
- Certification or credentialing as a Deaf / Hard of Hearing Specialist (or eligibility in the state)
- Experience working with students in the K-5 age group, preferably in school settings
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and knowledge of a wide array of communication modalities
- Strong collaboration and communication skills to work with educators, families, and support staff
- Compassion and a student-focused approach to support optimal educational access
Key responsibilities:
- Assess, plan, and deliver specialized instruction and support for DHH students
- Collaborate with classroom teachers and staff to foster inclusive learning environments
- Consult with families and provide resources to support student progress
- Track progress and maintain necessary documentation
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to individualized plans
