Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Valid certification or licensure in Deaf/Hard of Hearing Education
- Experience teaching or providing support to K-12 students with hearing impairments
- Strong familiarity with best practices for accessible instruction and communication strategies
- Ability to work independently, traveling between multiple school sites as needed
- Proficient in developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instructional and consultation services to students who are deaf or hard of hearing across multiple campuses
- Collaborate with general and special education teachers to adapt curriculum materials and teaching practices
- Conduct assessments to determine students’ academic and communication needs
- Serve as an advocate for students and facilitate accessible learning environments
- Offer guidance and training to staff and families on accommodations and assistive technologies
- Maintain thorough documentation and participate in IEP meetings
