Support students with hearing differences in an impactful contract opportunity serving multiple counties in the region. This full-time Deaf/Hard of Hearing (DHH) Specialist role plays a critical part in fostering an inclusive learning environment by delivering direct and consultative support to students and staff. While full-time candidates are preferred, part-time professionals are also encouraged to apply.
Key Qualifications:
- Professional background as a Deaf/Hard of Hearing Specialist or Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing
- Current teacher certification with appropriate DHH endorsement
- Experience working with students who are deaf or hard of hearing, preferably in educational settings
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with ability to serve as a resource for staff and families
Core Responsibilities:
- Provide itinerant services to students in Bond, Fayette, and Montgomery counties
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for students
- Adapt curriculum and instruction to meet diverse hearing needs
- Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to promote accessible learning environments
- Facilitate family engagement and consult regularly with parents and guardians to ensure cohesive support
- Maintain thorough documentation and progress reports
This contract position offers flexibility, the chance to travel throughout the area, and rewarding opportunities to make a difference in the lives of students. Both full-time and part-time itinerant DHH specialists are welcome to express interest, as local needs may vary.
