Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
- Education Specialist Instruction Credential in Deaf & Hard of Hearing, OR a valid California Special Education Credential authorizing the teaching of deaf and hard of hearing students
- Previous experience in a classroom or educational setting serving deaf or hard of hearing students preferred
- Strong knowledge of instructional strategies, audiology devices, IEP development, and current best practices for DHH education
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and organization skills
- Onsite availability required; this position is not open for remote or hybrid work
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction to students who are deaf or hard of hearing
- Adapt curriculum and teaching methods to meet individual student needs
- Collaborate with general education teachers, specialists, and families
- Participate in IEP development, meetings, and progress evaluations
- Foster an inclusive and positive classroom environment
- Support use and troubleshooting of assistive technology and hearing devices
