Key Qualifications:

  • Holds an Education Specialist Instruction Credential in Deaf & Hard of Hearing, or a valid California Special Education Credential authorizing the teaching of deaf and hard of hearing students.
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Experience working directly with students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing is highly desirable.
  • Ability to develop differentiated lessons tailored to auditory and communication needs.
  • Skilled in collaborating with educators, support staff, and families to promote student success.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and advocacy skills.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct instructional services to Deaf or Hard of Hearing students in accordance with their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
  • Develop and implement lesson plans that foster language acquisition, communication skills, and academic growth.
  • Use specialized strategies, technology, and visual supports to enhance learning accessibility.
  • Participate in IEP meetings and consult with classroom teachers to seamlessly integrate students into general education settings.
  • Maintain accurate records, progress monitoring, and ongoing communication with families and the educational team.
