Qualifications:
- State certification (or eligibility) as a Deaf/Hard of Hearing Specialist/Teacher
- Proficiency in assessing and developing academic and communication goals for DHH students
- Experience providing direct services to school-aged children, including individualized and group instruction
- Strong skills in collaborating with educators, support staff, and families to foster inclusive learning
- Capability to adapt teaching strategies for a diverse range of needs and communication modes
- Clear, compassionate communication and advocacy skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct instruction and support to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing, tailored to IEPs and individual goals
- Consult with educators and administrators to ensure classroom accommodations and access to curriculum
- Facilitate use of assistive technology and hearing equipment
- Develop resources and adapt materials to support student learning and participation
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, support IEP process, and maintain compliance with federal/state regulations
- Provide guidance and resources to school staff and families to promote understanding and inclusion
